Welcome to the homepage of Tierra Nueva and The People's Seminary!

This site will be a source of news, images, information and educational materials related to our work with people on the margins: inmates, immigrants, migrant farmworkers, and the Latino population of Skagit County, Washington.

We are motivated by our faith, and dedicated to social justice. We struggle to meet the day-to-day needs of these communities and to bridge the gap that exists between the mainstream church and the marginalized population.

We believe that the church has a great deal to offer to those on the margins and, at the same time, can learn a great deal by hearing their often ignored voices.

It is my hope that these pages will serve as a source of information and inspiration, a place for constructive criticism and the sharing of ideas. Obviously this is - and always will be - a work in progress. I welcome your comments and suggestions, and invite you to sign up for our email newsletter so that we may keep you informed (every month or so) of new information in these pages.
